If you are going to move within Norway, you must send a notice of change to the National Register of Citizens. You can send a change of address as early as 31 days before moving, but no later than 8 days after you have moved.

If you are moving to a non-Nordic country, you must tell the population register that you are moving in the case you intend to stay abroad for at least six months. You will automatically be registered as an emigrant from Norway if the notification is accepted in the country of relocation.

You do not report moving from Norway if;

you have already registered a move to another country
you have a D number (as a foreign citizen)
