The parental allowance is designed to replace your income to be at home with the child. There are usually 3 requirements you must meet to receive parental benefit;
You have had income for at least 6 of the last 10 months (certain payments from NAV, the employer or the initial service in the armed forces are also considered income)
You have earned at least NOK 55,739 a year. Converted to annual income, your income must correspond to half the basic amount
You are a member of the national insurance
